About
The intimacy of photography has a strange sense of distance. Finding a moment, fastened down like a specimen under glass, so that a particular occasion, place or person can fill the sight with force.
Through photography the habits of being in the world become bound and the surface stands in for a depth that cannot be refused. Approaching things with an openness to the world we observe so what intrigues can be shared and in that looking we find the capacity to connect.
We are particularly interested in notions of belonging, place and exile.
Working together since 1999 we are based in Auckland, New Zealand and also have a documentary film in post-production ‘The Agreement’.
